For the past few days, the world has been witnessing an unprecedented outbreak of pestilence which at present is pandemic, taking lives, plummeting the economy and disrupting normal lives and lifestyle and barring all religious institutions, universities, schools, etc.
As Christians, we know how fellowship is vital for our spiritual growth. In Acts 2: 42, we see how the disciples gave heed to the Apostles’ Doctrines and fellowship. Words would fail to explain the unity, love, fervent prayer, encouragement and exhortation of the saints and servants of God. They have warned and exhorted us, directing our lives to live in accordance to God’s will, setting our eyes on eternity. Unfortunate enough, the present circumstance that has led to the closure of Churches for an indefinite time period has left us all appalled. It is absolutely necessary that we remain steadfast in these times like unto the 5 wise virgins who each had a bottle of oil as spare while their lamps were burning. COVID-19 may have led to the closure of churches, but we being the temple of God must remain alive, with the lamp of God burning continuously. Let us continue our walk on the narrow road till the day star arise in our hearts. Be the good soldier God has called us to be - the true watchman, wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Armed with God given weapons, let us continue to look steadfastly unto God. Prophet Elijah had to repair the altar prior to his prayer to be answered. The water overflowed the trench giving no thought for any possibility for the sacrifice to be burnt. As the enemies wondered what the outcome would be, God who is faithful send his fire from heaven accepting not the sacrifice alone but licking up the waters completely.
Dears, no matter what trouble you and I may face, if our altar is aright, God is on our side. Let thousands or ten thousands come against us, if God can work on behalf of Elijah against the 450 prophets of Baal, no doubt He will start his work through you. Let not the closure of a church hall shut down the Temple of God !! Stand Fast! Stand Strong! The Battle is not yours but the Lord !God Bless!
